For Authors
Journal of Structures under Extreme Loads (JSEL) welcomes high-quality submissions that advance the understanding of structures subjected to extreme loading conditions. The journal publishes original research, review articles, and technical contributions that address critical challenges in the design, analysis, and resilience of structures.
Scope of the Journal
JSEL focuses on, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Earthquake and seismic engineering
- Blast and impact loading
- Fire and thermal effects on structures
- Progressive collapse and structural robustness
- Extreme wind and environmental loads
- Protective structures and infrastructure resilience
- Advanced materials under extreme conditions
- Computational and experimental methods
Submissions should demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, and relevance to real-world engineering challenges.
Types of Submissions
Authors may submit the following manuscript types:
- Research Articles – Full-length papers presenting original findings
- Review Articles – Comprehensive overviews of emerging or established topics
- Technical Notes – Short contributions focusing on specific methods, cases, or innovations
- Case Studies – Practical applications and lessons learned from real-world events
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. The process includes:
- Initial submission and editorial screening
- Assignment to an Associate or Section Editor
- Double-blind peer review by independent experts
- Editorial decision and author revisions (if required)
- Final acceptance and production
Authors are encouraged to ensure that submissions are complete, clearly written, and formatted according to the journal guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Before submission, authors should ensure:
- The manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere
- All authors have approved the submission
- The work complies with ethical standards and reporting guidelines
- References are accurate and properly formatted
- Figures and tables are of high quality
